We have been investigating how craters may have been formed on Mars by dropping meteorites from different heights and measuring the size of the craters. Stephen Hawking is inspiring us to find out more about space. English, maths and science in one lesson!
A wonderful performance of Twelfth Night at Blackwell Arts and Crafts House. Well done Year 5. Huge thank you to Marion Plowright, Bernadette Calvey and all the staff at Blackwell and the Wordsworth Trust. It has been a brilliant project to be part of. Thank you to everyone who came and watched…
We had a fabulous time learning all about owls this morning.
We had an Eggcellent time investigating materials to see which one would protect an egg if we dropped it.
We have been exploring how the planets move and looking at different theories over time. We looked at heliocentric and geocentric models.
While I am still waiting for my letter from Hogwarts, there is still chance for the children in Year 5. They have now had some Quidditch training.....just in case!
We spent time today with staff from The Wordsworth Trust, putting together our arts award and reflecting on our drama day yesterday
We have started rehearsals. Thank you to Marion and Bernadette from Blackwell for a brilliant instruction in our play.
We have had the most gorgeous day at Swarthmoor Hall. We explored the grounds, then the woods, braved the cows and had a tour of the hall. The children were fantastic and were praised by the people who looked after us at the Hall.
We made a new recipe for slime this week. Lots more mess and fun.
Thank you to author Kita Mitchell for coming in to see years 5 and 6 today and talk about her Grandma Dangerous books. We loved it and lots of the children got signed copies.
