Class of 2020

Year 6 made bauble Christmas Cards.  They worked really hard on them and really focused and the instructions and mastering the techniques needed.

We started our Christmas decorations today.  The concentration and smiles on everyone's faces was brilliant.  It started with I can't do this...YET!  But, after a short while we had comments of, "Oh so a blanket stitch is just a whip stitch, but go through it," and 

"I keep doing a whip stitch…

Year 6 had lots of fun making smoothie's using peddle power!  Healthy way to make healthy food.

Year 6 had an amazing session learning about Dawali and learning a Bollywood dance routine.  They were really fast learners and by the end of the session could have been backing dancers in a film!

Year 6 planned and designed Mickey Mouse ears using their success criteria based on progressive DT skills.  They planned, designed, constructed and looked how they could strengthen and improve their ideas.  Once we had made them we had a treat of a film, hot chocolate, ice pops and pop corn.  We…

Year 6 have enjoyed a mindfulness day.  We have learned lots of strategies to help us.  The one we all liked was THE POWER OF YET.

Thank you so much for all the wonderful presents and cards this week. It has been an absolute joy spending the last two years with this crazy bunch and I will miss them a lot. Have a wonderful summer and see you all in September

We have been recreating Hokusai's most famous picture The Great Wave 

We had a fantastic time playing wheelchair basketball today. 

We have been discussing the human timeline and in particular sorting true or false statements about old age. 

We finished reading Kensuke's Kingdom today. It is a book we have all loved. I warned them that I might cry.....they did too!

We had an amazing time at Furness Academy this morning watching their brilliant show The Wind in the Willows.
