Christmas has sprung in year 5!

We’ve been investigating magnetic force 

As part of our coastal erosion topic for English, we have been exploring how headlands turn into caves, arches, stacks and stumps due to erosion. 

Gymnastics skills, press ups and skipping 

Today year 3 made their Christmas angels ready to decorate the tree. 
 

While doing the daily mile today, we spotted some apples in the orchard. We decided to pick some and have a delicious healthy snack. 

Today we used our astrolabes to journey through the stars and find routes through space. 

Year 5 celebrating Children in Need 

We have used the theme one kind word and we came up with lots of kind words for the people in our class. 

Today we have been making different river systems. We made a tributary, a delta, a meander and a waterfall. 

We used boomwackers, glockenspiels and violins to investigate pitch. We discovered that the shorter the boomwacker (or note on the glockenspiel the higher the note. On the violins, the thinner the string the higher the note. Then we each made a set of panpipes using straws.
