We have had a wonderful day at The Discovery Centre in Millom, exploring the museum and having a sunny lunch and train journey. Many thanks to the Discovery Centre for organising this visit for us.
Fell walking day 1 2018
We went to Coniston Water, Cathedral Quarry and climbed The Bell.
Wergild for Body Parts
We are learning about Anglo Saxon Crime and Punishment.
If an Anglo Saxon injured another Anglo Saxon the had to pay Wergild depending which body part was injured or cut off.

Year 2 visit to Furness Abbey
Year 2 had a great time at Furness Abbey today. We enjoyed finding out all about the history and would like to thank Mrs Jepson for being a wonderful tour guide.
Local history
We began exploring local history this afternoon. It was very exciting and one child thought it was like finding clues to solve a mystery.
Science week
Year 1 have had great fun during science week. We planted seeds, broad beans, french marigolds, a blueberry bush and strawberry plants outside our classroom. We made bubbles and talked about how exercise affects our bodies. We washed our teddies to see which materials dried the quickest and…
