Year 5 created some Jackson Pollack style art work. 

We have had an absolutely gorgeous day at Walney taking part in bug hunts, learning about sand dunes and spotting seals. Such a lovely day 

Today we have been dissecting flowers and finding male and female parts. 

A brilliant morning at Dowdales making carrot cake muffins and twirlers. 

We have had a brilliant day visiting St Bernard's School. Thank you so much to everyone there for making us feel so welcome. 

We have been exploring international time zones around the world. 

Sporting some impressive beards, some of year 5 played the part of Pliny the Younger, reading his eye witness account of Mount Vesuvius destroying Pompeii.

We have been exploring properties of shapes 

We have had a great afternoon with Catherine from The Wordsworth Trust, thinking about the whole project of making the film and reflecting on the experience. 

We have entered a competition to visit the Sealife Centre. We investigated the problem of plastic in the oceans and made information posters about it, we collected plastic from the beach and our own homes to make some jelly fish and a turtle. 

We have moved to the hall whilst there is voting taking place in our classroom. We are writing our Alfred the Great and King Canute biographies.
