We wrote a simple story based on the proverb 'a house is not a home' and then up-levelled it to make it sound more interesting! It started like this:

A builder wanted to build. He got his tools. He started to build. He worked hard. He looked at the house. It was empty. He came back. A family had moved in.

Then, this happened...

A busy builder wanted to construct a colossal mansion. Quickly, he ran and collected his different tools from his work van. Carefully and happily, he started to put up the beginning parts of the massive castle. He worked every day and every night and finished at 12pm. He was exhausted! The builder settled down for his tea and biscuits.

He glanced quickly at the inside of the house and thought something was missing. He slowly looked outside at the garden and again thought that something was missing. There was no colour, no carpets, no pictures, no doors, no fridge, no toys, no food and importantly no family!

Several months later, the builder returned to the vast castle. He was glad and excited because he saw a family had moved in. He was stunned at all the colour! It really had turned into a home!
